Context

Exhibitors at a large trade show juggle a lot before and during the event: registering the staff who will work the booth, inviting customers and prospects, booking hotels, finding resources, and capturing leads once the doors open. For the Great American Trucking Show, CDS needed a single portal that pulled all of that into one clear, branded experience built on the company's registration platform.

My role

I designed the portal end to end — information architecture, page layouts, and the visual system — and prototyped the full flow in Adobe XD so stakeholders and developers could click through it before build. The design reused the GATS brand and slotted into the existing registration back end.

The exhibitor experience

A consistent left-nav shell ties the portal together, with focused screens for each task — staff registration, customer invites, on-site lead capture, resources, hotels, and FAQs — plus contextual modals for in-flow details.

Responsive layout

Exhibitors are rarely at a desk during a show, so the portal collapses cleanly to a mobile layout with an off-canvas navigation menu — the same tasks, reachable from the floor.

The result

The prototype gave the team a complete, clickable portal to align on and hand to developers — a cohesive exhibitor experience that consolidated previously scattered tasks into one on-brand hub, and a pattern that could be adapted for other client events.
